Long time activist, and former Democratic Party candidate for State House Dist. 45, Chris Hrabovsky has taken on the challenge of reforming our energy policy-at the local level. In 2000 Chris’ interest in alternative fuels for vehicles led him to convert a truck to run on hydrogen. In 2006, he re-invigorated an environmental fight to save the Anclote River, from the grips of Wal-Mart, by taking on a lawsuit “pro se”, after the other activists had fled. He also lends his help to Pasco’s Citizens for Sanity, as they help protect the Cypress Creek, Seranova Preserve, and the newly proposed destruction of wetlands by T.Rowe Price. Today, Chris has focused on the effects of 2006 Senate Bill 888. He has a plan to prevent new coal and nuclear plants from being built, and promotes de-centralized solar and wind power.

Making class warfare a thing of the past and the future of our world
- by Chris Hrabovsky
It has been said that class warfare has always been a part of our lives, even when it comes to our environment. The difference has often been that those with more have also had more opportunity to squelch the views of those with less. This is where a positive change is occurring.

This time it’s the proposed waterfront stadium in St. Petersburg: they want over $450 million of tax payer dollars to build a private business that will produce profits for its owners, not the taxpayers who have been asked to foot the bill.
